Omnis is partnering with an established UK technology consultancy that is building out a modern engineering academy focused on cloud, DevOps, platform engineering and AI-assisted software delivery.

This is not a traditional classroom trainer role. We are looking for someone with genuine hands-on engineering credibility who can help shape how early-career engineers are trained before moving into enterprise client environments.

The role will cover:

  • Cloud engineering across AWS, Azure and/or GCP
  • DevOps, CI/CD and infrastructure as code
  • Kubernetes, containers and platform engineering
  • Observability, testing and engineering best practice
  • AI-assisted development workflows, including Claude, Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor and LLM-based tooling
  • Practical, real-world learning design and technical delivery

You could come from a background in:

  • Software engineering
  • DevOps engineering
  • SRE
  • Platform engineering
  • Cloud engineering
  • Technical consulting
  • Technical training or engineering enablement

You’ll need:

  • Strong cloud, DevOps, platform or software engineering experience
  • Credibility across modern engineering practices
  • Confidence explaining technical concepts clearly
  • A genuine interest in teaching, mentoring, coaching or capability-building
  • An interest in AI-assisted engineering and how it changes delivery
  • Strong communication skills and energy for developing others
  • Ability to work 4 days per week from a London office

You do not need to be a career trainer. In fact, the client is particularly interested in people who can bring current engineering practice into a learning environment. This could suit someone who has enjoyed mentoring engineers, running workshops, leading internal training, speaking at meetups, supporting bootcamps or helping teams adopt new engineering practices.

Salary is expected to be around £100,000–£120,000, depending on experience.
