🧠 The Mandate

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for building and leading the engineering organisation through a phase of accelerated growth.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you will own team expansion, technical standards, and delivery outcomes across backend, frontend, ML, and infrastructure. This role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on technical involvement, particularly in the early stages.

You will define how engineering operates:

How teams are structured, how systems are built, and how quality is maintained as scale increases.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and commercial leadership to turn business priorities into reliable, production‑grade systems while establishing a culture of ownership, precision, and ambition.

🔩 What You’ll Be Accountable For

  • Growing the engineering function to support aggressive company targets
  • Designing and executing a hiring strategy that attracts elite engineers.
  • Setting and upholding engineering standards across the organisation
  • Owning architectural decisions for a scalable, enterprise‑grade platform
  • Reviewing critical code and mentoring engineers at all levels
  • Establishing delivery rhythms that prioritise speed and reliability.
  • Building a culture that values quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Managing performance, progression, and feedback across the team
  • Staying hands‑on with technically complex or high‑impact initiatives
