Omnis are exclusively partnered with a globally recognised consumer and retail brand as they embark on one of the most ambitious AI and data transformation programmes in the sector. As part of this evolution, the business is seeking an exceptional senior data science leader to take ownership of its global consumer data science capability, leading a high-profile function at the intersection of customer analytics, marketing effectiveness, commercial strategy and AI transformation.

This is a genuinely business-critical appointment, sitting at the centre of how the organisation understands, engages and grows its customer base across multiple international markets. The remit spans ownership of the global CoE for Data Science, encompassing a team of experts delivering consumer modelling, lifecycle and propensity models, pricing analytics and marketing data science, whilst also helping shape the future application of data science across buying, merchandising and planning functions.

Beyond technical expertise, this role requires an individual capable of influencing senior stakeholders across regions and functions, operating with a high degree of autonomy and acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams. We're looking for someone who combines deep consumer and retail data science experience with exceptional communication skills, executive presence and the ability to drive change in a large, complex organisation.

Requirements include:

  • Educated to at least degree level in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Machine Learning etc.
  • Extensive experience leading teams of Data Scientists within consumer environments; retail experience is essential for this role.
  • Deep expertise across customer modelling, lifecycle analytics, propensity modelling and pricing.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capability.
  • Experience operating at senior leadership or VP level within global organisations.
  • A highly independent, commercially minded approach with the ability to shape strategy as well as execution.

Alongside this hire, the business is making significant investment into AI transformation and is actively rethinking how data science, AI engineering and automation capabilities will operate together in the future. For senior leaders looking to combine large-scale consumer data science with the opportunity to influence the next generation of AI-enabled decision making within a global brand, this represents a particularly compelling opportunity.
