Following significant commercial success in 2025 and with a strong order book, Omnicell UK is hiring a field service engineer in the London area.

The Junior Field Service Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Omnicell systems at our customers’ sites across Greater London. The role will involve carrying out scheduled maintenance and ad hoc break‑fix callouts, coordinated by our helpdesk team. This will include fault finding, replacing parts, performing quality and safety checks and management of time and spare parts. On occasion you may be required to join our project teams, assisting with the installation and configuration of Omnicell systems and there may be some weekend or out of hours rota work required. There are good opportunities for development over time into a range of areas in the business, including technical implementation, project management and solutions consultant.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Qualifications

  • Educated to a good standard, including Maths and English.
  • Any IT, Electrical or Engineering qualifications (either academic or professional) would be advantageous.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Practical problem‑solving personality.
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Windows Operating Systems, Excel.
  • Knowledge of hardware, electronic components, networks and databases.
  • Understanding of stock control issues e.g. just‑in‑time, MRP not essential but beneficial.
  • Qualifications are secondary to your overall attitude, outlook and work‑ethic.
  • Full solution, software and hardware training will be given so no specific product experience is required.

Communication and relationship skills

  • Able to draw hospital staff out on their jobs, roles and work processes.
  • Influence hospital staff positively to engage with automation.
  • Intelligently interpret what you are told by hospital staff.
  • Concisely communicate with other staff and managers.

Experience of working in NHS or private hospitals would be beneficial but not essential. This is a hands‑on technical role for which you will need to have practical and technical skills. Very important personal qualities will include your ability to think on your feet, being a methodical problem solver and being of mature, confident and polite character. You will need to live near or within easy commuting distance of Greater London where most of your work will be based. The role will occasionally involve travel further afield to hospitals across the UK and there may be occasional nights away from home.

£27k-£31k depending on experience and qualifications plus annual bonus, workplace pension, company laptop and phone.
