Responsible for owning the development backlog for digital solutions applied to hospitals. This includes product release planning and spans a range of tactical responsibilities that evolve as a product matures. The product owner must be able to understand and represent the voice of the market to the development team and drive decisions, strategies and lead based on this knowledge. The product owner oversees the development of products from start to finish, ensuring they meet the customers’ needs and preferences.

Main duties include:

  • Determining the overall vision of products
  • Managing various backlog items
  • Deciding which features each product will have according to customer preferences

A product owner must also have the core competence to understand the impact decisions have on the operational and financial metrics of the business. Additionally, this role must be able to coordinate and collaborate across the business unit to drive holistic solutions (services, support) and influence other departments in a productive, cohesive manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the engineering team to educate on customer workflows and their detailed needs
  • Act as a customer advocate within the team, making decisions on low level details about each feature
  • Work with the product manager and engineering lead to plan the releases
  • Prioritize the development requirements for new features and defects across the product range
  • Work closely with customers to understand the low-level ask for each feature
  • Act as a conduit into product management and the customer when the engineering team have questions you are unable to answer
  • Lead on defect prioritisation
  • Own the digital solutions for hospitals product lines and increase mindshare internally and externally
  • Enable co-creation with some key customers or Key Opinion Leaders
  • Work with the engineering team to build product roadmap and share with the product manager
  • Assess market demands and user needs
  • Launch new products in alignment with marketing and provide all relevant content for customer facing materials
  • Research and understand new market trends
  • Work with the engineering team to improve and enhance product features
  • Define Product, User Personas, Requirements, Use Scenarios
  • End-to-end ownership to drive release program direction and execution through closely working with the core team
  • Responsible for release/program decisions to ensure end-to-end success (e.g., schedule, product features, testing levels)
  • Drive successful completion of projects, own customer acceptance of final product release
  • Champion the digital value proposition of the digital solutions

Required Knowledge And Skills:

  • Proven ability in UX/UI design and methodology
  • Strong data manipulation and understanding SQL database query writing
  • Strong understanding of customer workflows and information needed to deliver releases with high impact to revenue and income goals
  • Able to guide supporting team members
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of company business to determine and deliver products/releases with high impact to revenue and income goals
  • Strong communication and leadership skills essential for delivering results and driving success in a matrix organization
  • Works well with product marketing, marketing communication, sales and engineering teams and customers
  • Able to interface effectively and collaborate with peers
  • Able to handle multiple projects at a time and effectively prioritize to achieve optimal results
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Able to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative and accountability for achieving results
  • A self-starter who is able to work independently
  • Good management, communication and analytical skills and thorough knowledge of company's products
  • Able to influence and gain acceptance from members of cross-functional teams
  • Able to communicate effectively with cross-functional product or solution line teams
  • Able to communicate effectively with external clients up to the C-suite, including making presentations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Healthcare, Business, IT or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Some experience in product ownership and product adoption
  • Healthcare/medication and Supply Chain experience preferred
  • Understanding of Agile product development process would be a plus
  • Solid understanding of hospital pharmacy workflows and challenges
  • Product UX/UI design experience
  • Digital and Data proven skills

Work Conditions:

  • Office environment: remote
  • Travel: 25-30% primarily within Europe, possibility for occasional travel to North America
