Materials Controller to join a busy warehouse and manufacturing operation in Barking.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous warehouse, stores, stock control or logistics experience who is looking for a varied role with responsibility for keeping materials and stock moving efficiently.
About the role
As a Materials Controller, you will ensure ingredients and packaging materials are available for production when required, while maintaining accurate stock records and high standards of food safety and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Pick and issue ingredients and packaging materials to production.
- Accurately record all stock movements on the system.
- Collect, count and return unused materials to stock.
- Carry out daily, weekly and monthly stock counts.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages and damages.
- Receive, inspect and store incoming materials.
- Follow FIFO and FEFO stock rotation procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse.
- Follow all Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure accurate traceability and stock records.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Previous warehouse, stores, stock control or logistics experience.
- Good numerical and counting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience using stock systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, GMP or HACCP.
- FLT licence.
- Experience using ERP or WMS systems.
- The ideal candidate
You’ll be reliable, organised and comfortable working on your feet in a busy warehouse environment.
You should have a strong eye for detail and take pride in maintaining accurate stock levels and high standards of housekeeping.
