We are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a busy warehouse operation in Chessington. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous team leadership or supervisory experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and leading a team to achieve daily targets and KPIs.

Shift Pattern

  • Rotating AM/PM - £31,031 per annum
  • 1 week AM / 1 week PM
  • AM: 6:45am - 2:45pm
  • PM: 2:45pm - 10:45pm
  • Thursday PM: 2:30pm - 10:30pm
  • PM Shift Only - £31,431 per annum
  • PM: 2:45pm - 10:45pm
  • Thursday: 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Both options are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will need to be flexible during peak periods, when occasional weekend working may be required.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting and managing a team, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and that productivity, accuracy and service levels are maintained. You will have a hands-on approach to leadership, providing clear direction and support to your team while helping them achieve their individual and team targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and manage a team on a day-to-day basis
  • Allocate tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately
  • Monitor team productivity and performance against KPIs
  • Provide guidance, coaching and constructive feedback
  • Conduct regular team 1:1s and support employee development
  • Ensure agreed service levels and productivity targets are achieved
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or operational issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Ensure company procedures and standards are followed
  • Maintain a positive, professional and inclusive working environment
  • Lead by example and support the team during busy periods

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous Team Leader, Supervisor or similar leadership experience
  • Experience working within a warehouse, logistics, retail or similar fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • The ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • A flexible and adaptable approach
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with warehouse management systems or stock management systems would be advantageous.
