We are looking for a Technical Operations Associate to join a growing technical operations team specialising in IT asset recovery, refurbishment, recycling, and secure device processing. This role is ideal for someone with experience in IT hardware handling, refurbishment, electronics processing, warehouse operations, or technical recycling who enjoys problem-solving and practical technical work.
The Role
You will be responsible for processing IT equipment through refurbishment, recovery, harvesting, recycling, and secure disposal streams while ensuring quality, compliance, and accurate asset tracking throughout the process. Duties will include:
- Receiving, booking in, and processing inbound IT equipment
- Testing, grading, and assessing devices for reuse, resale, refurbishment, recycling, or destruction
- Carrying out refurbishment, component replacement, cleaning, upgrades, and rebuilding activities
- Harvesting reusable parts from failed or uneconomical devices
- Handling data-bearing assets securely and following chain-of-custody procedures
- Completing accurate system updates and asset records
- Supporting colleagues with routine technical queries and device handling standards
- Maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, safety, and housekeeping
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience within warehouse, production, refurbishment, electronics, manufacturing, ITAD, or similar operational environments
- Good understanding of IT hardware and device components
- Experience carrying out testing, diagnostics, dismantling, refurbishment, or parts harvesting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately
- Basic IT skills and confidence using systems for tracking and recording work
- Reliable, organised, and able to work efficiently in a structured environment
- Comfortable with manual handling activities
Desirable:
- Previous ITAD, refurbishment, reverse logistics, or electronics repair experience
- Experience working with laptops, desktops, servers, tablets, or mobile devices
- Familiarity with ERP, WMS, asset tracking, or data erasure systems such as Blancco or Odoo
- Knowledge of secure data handling and media sanitisation
- Forklift, pallet truck, ESD, or manual handling certifications
