Workington Full-Time On-site
O

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Tender Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end bidding process for a specialist engineering business operating within the nuclear sector. You'll lead major tender submissions from initial receipt through strategy, storyboarding and governance to final submission and client feedback, coordinating technical, commercial and operational stakeholders to maximise win rates and support ambitious growth targets. This position would suit an accomplished Tender or Bid Manager with a strong track record of managing complex, high-value bids within the nuclear industry. It will appeal to someone who combines excellent bid management and commercial skills with the ability to bring together multidisciplinary teams, develop compelling win strategies and drive submissions through demanding deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete tender process, developing bid strategies, schedules, win themes and clear requirements from initial opportunity through to final submission
  • Coordinate and motivate contributors across technical, commercial, operational, subsidiary and supply chain teams to produce high-quality, compliant responses
  • Facilitate win strategy sessions, storyboarding, answer planning, bid reviews and client presentation rehearsals to maximise the quality and scoring potential of submissions
  • Manage tender submissions through internal governance processes, ensuring key deliverables, commercial requirements and deadlines are effectively controlled
  • Lead post-tender reviews and lessons learned, using client feedback and bid outcomes to continuously improve future submissions and develop bidding capability across the wider team

In return you'll receive a competitive salary and benefits package, alongside the opportunity to lead strategically important tenders for an established engineering organisation operating across the nuclear sector.

So if you're looking for a senior Tender Management role where you can take ownership of complex bids and directly influence major contract wins

An exemplary bid/tender management track record, strong commercial understanding and 10+ years' experience within nuclear or a similarly highly regulated industry are essential. A degree or equivalent qualification is also required, while a technical/engineering background, nuclear decommissioning experience and Salesforce knowledge would be advantageous
