We are recruiting for a proactive HR Assistant/Officer to join our Human Resources department. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with great administration skills and excellent attention to detail who is looking to progress their career within Human Resources. With your exceptional ability to pay close attention to detail, your can-do attitude, excellent organisation skills, genuine interest in HR and great sense of humour, you will be an integral part of our small HR team.

You will provide generalist Human Resources administration support to the Director of HR and the Assistant HR Manager, Area Managers and employees in the company as required whilst taking responsibility for various HR administration tasks with the support of an HR Administrator.

Duties include:

  • Allocate employee numbers to all new starters, following the required processes
  • Respond to reference requests within the specified time period
  • Maintain all employees' files up to date and in an organised manner
  • Ensure all right-to-work documentation is up to date and monthly checks are carried out as required
  • Utilise the UKBA employer checking service when required
  • Remove leavers from current employees filing at the end of every month, ensuring leavers from within 6 months are retained on site and those who left beyond 6 months previous are sent to archives
  • Assist with responding to employee enquiries pertaining to their employment in a prompt and professional manner
  • Administer employee benefits (including long service, an employee of the month/quarter, employee benefits) following all required processes
  • Assist with the administration related to TUPE processes (incoming and outgoing)

Essential skills and experience:

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Previous office administration experience is essential, ideally from within an HR department
  • Extremely well organised
  • IT literate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional approach which generates credibility and confidence from others
