We are seeking a Phlebotomy Health Care Assistant to join our Secondary Care Services based in our dermatology clinics. This role is ideal for somebody who enjoys working independently, while being part of a supportive and friendly team, working together to make a difference to how health services are delivered to patients.
An ideal candidate would have previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP practice, hospital, or any other clinical setting with a passion for making the patient journey as comfortable as possible. You must hold a Phlebotomy qualification and be experienced in collecting and processing venous blood samples.
We offer full training for the right candidate, all we ask is that you are reliable, professional, able to work independently, can commit to the working locations and hours, and have excellent computer skills.
Following full training, you will be supporting our dermatologists and nurses in face-to-face clinics as well as assisting with minor procedures. You will also conduct your own phlebotomy and medical photography clinics where you will complete questionnaires with patients and take some specialised images.
There are 40 hours per week available over Monday to Friday; however, weekend work may sometimes be required. You will be working based on the rota with clinics starting as early as 8 am and finishing as late as 6 pm.
You will be working within our Dermatology Services. Phlebotomy experience is essential. This is a Full-Time role working 40 hours per week, over 5 days, which can include some weekends.
Role Requirements:
- Experienced phlebotomist.
- Ordering supplies and equipment.
- Explaining to patients what will take place during their appointment.
- Undertaking tasks and duties delegated by the clinical and management teams.
- Providing care for the patient whilst maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and privacy are always maintained and are specific to the patients’ needs.
- To support a high-quality clerical and clinical support service, entering patient data into computer systems, always ensuring attention to detail.
- Being professional, timely, and reliable.
- Ensuring confidentiality is always adhered to.
- Proficient use of Computer Software Systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
