Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Womenswear Designer role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Senior Womenswear Designer will lead the creative design process for womenswear collections, from concept and trend research through to final product sign-off. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Developing seasonal mood boards
- Sketching designs
- Selecting fabrics and trims
- Working closely with product development, buying, and technical teams to ensure collections align with OMNES’ aesthetic and sustainability standards
- Overseeing fittings and refining garments for fit and construction
- Managing design timelines to meet critical path deadlines
- Mentoring junior designers
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Contributing to continuous innovation in sustainable design practices
Qualifications
- Strong womenswear Fashion Design experience, including leading seasonal collections and interpreting brand DNA into commercially relevant product.
- Advanced Sketching skills (hand and/or digital) to quickly visualize concepts, create detailed technical sketches, and communicate design intent to internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in Textiles, including fabric properties, sustainable materials, trims, and finishes, with the ability to select appropriate fabrics aligned with design, durability, and environmental goals.
- Ability to conduct trend and market Research, translating insights into innovative yet wearable designs that resonate with OMNES’ target customer.
- Hands-on Product Development experience, collaborating with pattern cutters, factories, and technical teams to ensure quality, fit, and cost efficiency.
- Solid understanding of sustainable fashion principles and a genuine commitment to ethical and responsible production.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD tools) and familiarity with PLM or similar systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Previous experience at a contemporary or sustainable womenswear brand is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualification in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
