OMNES is a modern, sustainable and cost-conscious women's fashion brand, designing ethically crafted clothing. OMNES means 'all', a reflection of the fact that we all need to work together to change the way we shop, wear and think about fashion. OMNES focuses on timeless designs with playful pops of print and colour and a considered approach to how their pieces fit bodies of all shapes and sizes. OMNES was founded in London in 2021 to address the gap in access to better wardrobe choices and create a brand that would speak to this unmet need.

The fashion industry is one of the world's most prolific polluters, with millions of tonnes of textiles ending up in landfill every year, and global supply chain workers being underpaid and exploited. The detrimental impact is vast, and improving the ways it operates could make a truly positive difference to the future of our planet and global community. OMNES strives to act as a responsible global citizen, treating the Earth with respect, and aiming to contribute to its repair.

The role

You will be our lead hands‐on designer, taking collections from concept through development to production‐ready, working to the range plan agreed with merchandising. You will be a senior design voice in the business, working directly with the CEO on creative direction. This is not a blank‐slate role. You will join at a busy point in the calendar, with seasons in active development across our UK and international supply base. Your first job is to take direct ownership of live workstreams, hold the critical path, and keep supplier development moving. This is a craft‐first role. You will sketch, spec, fit and approve, not just direct. There may be some line‐management and mentoring of other designers, with scope to grow the team over time.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of live seasonal development: sampling, lab dips, fabric and trim development, and approvals across our partners
  • Lead seasons from early sketch through development to production‐ready, to the agreed range plan, critical path and margin targets
  • Design seasonal womenswear collections (mainline plus capsules and collaborations)
  • Own the design calendar from concept boards through SMS, fit, sealing and bulk approval
  • Produce and maintain accurate tech packs, specs and grading instructions for our factories
  • Run fit sessions and manage fit approval to a consistent block library
  • Source and select fabrics and trims in line with our sustainability standards (preferred fibres, certified materials, durability and circularity considerations)
  • Manage day‐to‐day development relationships with our UK and international suppliers and partners
  • Mentor and support other designers, and manage external freelance design, pattern cutting and graphic support as needed
  • Occasional travel to suppliers and stores
  • Contribute to our sustainability and compliance work, including emerging EU product regulation

What we are looking for

  • Significant experience in womenswear design, including time at senior level
  • A portfolio showing commercial contemporary womenswear with a clear point of view
  • Strong technical foundations: pattern awareness, garment construction, fit, grading and tech pack quality you would stake your name on
  • Experience working with overseas factories
  • Genuine fluency in responsible materials and lower‐impact construction, not just the vocabulary
  • Comfortable working to margin and critical path constraints in a lean team
  • Proven ability to pick up a season mid‐flight: you can inherit existing trackers, tech packs and supplier threads and run with them
  • Available to start quickly (short notice period or immediately available preferred)
  • Adobe CS and Illustrator flats to a high standard; CLO or similar 3D experience a plus
  • You take ownership and raise the bar on craft across everything you touch
