We are seeking a Phlebotomy Health care Assistant to join our Secondary Care Services based in our dermatology clinics. This role is ideal for somebody who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive and friendly team, working together to make a difference in how health services are delivered to patients.
Central Clinic Locations:
- The Surgery Chorley, St Thomas Street, Chorley PR7 1HR
- ISSA Medical Centre, 73 St Gregory Road, Preston PR1 6YA
Responsibilities:
- Make full training for the right candidate, then support our dermatologists and nurses in face‑to‑face clinics and assist with minor procedures.
- Conduct your own phlebotomy and medical photography clinics, completing questionnaires with patients and taking specialised images.
- Work within our Dermatology Services, on a rota that may include Monday to Friday and some weekend work.
- Start clinics as early as 8:00 am and finish as late as 6:00 pm.
- Order supplies and equipment required for daily tasks.
- Explain to patients what will take place during their appointment.
- Undertake tasks and duties delegated by the clinical and management teams.
- Provide care for the patient while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity and privacy are always maintained and tailored to the patients’ needs.
- Support a high‑quality clerical and clinical service by entering patient data into computer systems with attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Use computer software systems proficiently, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP practice, hospital, or any other clinical setting.
- Hold a valid Phlebotomy qualification.
- Experience in collecting and processing venous blood samples.
- Reliable, professional, able to work independently, and have excellent computer skills.
