Job Description
We’re fixing the most broken process in business. Whether it’s SaaS, hardware, or contractors, a typical B2B purchase drags on for 3+ months, spawns 50+ emails, and pulls in multiple stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Security, and IT. Nobody likes it, and it slows businesses down.
Omnea exists to change that. Our AI-native platform connects the people, steps, and systems so buying just works. Employees have one place to make requests, the right approvals run automatically, renewals and supplier risk checks are handled on time, and leaders get clear visibility into how, when, and why money is being spent.
This matters more now than ever: volatile markets demand capital efficiency, businesses who adopt AI quickly have a competitive advantage, and evolving regulation demands evidenceable controls—so buying has to be fast and compliant by default.
Founded in 2022, we’re trusted by global enterprises including Spotify, Adecco Group, Albertsons, Wise, MongoDB, and Monzo. Our team previously built Tessian (backed by Sequoia; acquired by Proofpoint) and we’ve raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, Accel, Point Nine, and First Round.
OverviewWe’re looking for an exceptional Legal & Compliance Manager to join Omnea’s team to support all aspects of our governance and support our rapid scale!
Reporting to our CFO Sabrina, you'll be a trusted right-hand and work across all aspects of legal, compliance, and information security, from commercial negotiations, to corporate transactions, employment matters, advising on our product, and driving infosec certifications. As the first member of Legal at Omnea you'll have a broad scope and a wide remit to accelerate and protect our business as we quickly grow and scale to multiple markets!
This is an evolving role, and whether you're coming from another startup or straight out of a firm, you'll get to have an outsized impact at Omnea, and it's a perfect role for someone who believes that legal functions should help businesses run faster, not slower.
You’ll be joining us at an incredibly exciting time, just as things are starting to take off! We're a Series A company having raised $25m from Accel, Point Nine, First Round, and 50+ renowned founders and industry experts. We’ve built an incredible & passionate team — every member was a top performer at their previous business - and our CEO, CCO & CFO went on a similar journey with Tessian, going from $0-30m ARR / $8-$500m valuation, and from pre-seed to Series C (Sequoia, Accel, etc.).
We've spent the past 18 months building & deploying our platform to many of the greatest tech companies out there (Lookout, McAfee, Onfido, Typeform, Proofpoint, etc.), all whilst managing to stay lean & operate efficiently.
Now we’re ready to scale, and looking for someone great as we work to make Omnea one of Europe’s leading tech businesses: come build with us!
What you can expectYou’ll do whatever it takes to make sure Omnea can continue to operate at pace. You'll;
Look after all aspects of legal at Omnea, working with all our teams from R&D to Go To Market;
Take care of general commercial contracts drafting and negotiation, including our own standard terms and customer negotiations;
Handle company secretarial work;
Work with the R&D team to project manage us through our various infosec certifications, including SOC 1 and SOC 2;
Research and provide Legal advice as needed, whether it's managing our equity schemes, employment matters, or data protection requirements.
Help run visa processes for team members as required
Advise on data protection & IP, including reviewing and negotiating agreements related to data processing and supporting data privacy processes, policies and issues, and protecting company IP through trademarks and other measure
Manage our internal policies
Support with corporate transactions, including fundraising and other international expansion activities as needed
We are looking for someone with the right mindset & a broad skillset to take on this challenge!
You'll be a qualified lawyer or solicitor with relevant training from a top law firm and a minimum of a year's PQE. Note: we're open to hiring this role at multiple different levels of seniority - if you're more experienced than this, please still apply!
You're highly commercial with experience gained negotiating and reviewing (ideally) high volume SaaS commercial agreements
You'll be willing to extend your legal experience into other areas of law (Employment, IP)
You're excited and able to operate at pace and in ambiguity, and can operate across competing and changing priorities
You're happy to get extremely hands on, and into the weeds of whatever needs weeding!
You have a good working knowledge of, and decent experience with data / privacy law internationally
You have good legal instincts, and a capable ability to anticipate and mitigate future legal challenges and issues.
You're a natural problem solver and commercially astute, with excellent judgment and analytical skills
You work hard & care lots about your work. You care deeply about the work you do, and having a reputation for competence and excellence, and put in the time and dedication to get to that outcome.
You have high maturity and high integrity, especially around nuanced or confidential information.
