About the Role
As our business continues to expand internationally and evolve in sophistication across areas such as advertising, business travel, and AI-driven products, the complexity of our financial reporting environment is increasing significantly. The Head of Group Reporting will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and scalable financial reporting across a growing number of entities, systems, and revenue streams. Beyond delivering high-quality consolidated financial statements, this role will drive the evolution of our group reporting processes, strengthen controls, and ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAPs in a dynamic, fast‑changing environment. Working closely with the VP Finance and senior stakeholders, you will help shape a robust and future‑proof reporting framework that supports strategic decision‑making, new business models, and continued international growth.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Lead the preparation and delivery of annual external reporting, including footnotes and checklists under IFRS, UK GAAP, and German GAAP
- Own relationships with internal and external auditors for group reporting and consolidation topics
- Research and implement new accounting standards and assess their impact on the business
- Advise senior management on the interpretation and application of IFRS standards
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, manuals, and position papers
- Manage external accounting providers and ensure timely and accurate reporting across entities
- Provide technical accounting support on complex topics (e.g. revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, capitalisation)
- Support strategic initiatives such as acquisitions or new business models from a group reporting perspective
- Strengthen and document controls across financial reporting and group accounting
- Drive improvements and scalability in reporting processes, systems, and tools
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in group reporting, consolidation, or technical accounting
- Background in a Big 4 firm is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with external reporting
- Experience working in international, multi‑entity environments
- Familiarity with consolidation tools and ERP systems (Workday experience is a plus)
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- A proactive, ownership‑driven mindset with a focus on improving processes and scaling systems
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
