We are looking for an experienced Cleaning and General Maintenance Operative to join our team on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for the day to day cleaning of our offices and warehouse, along with general site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for a variety of daily cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, and emptying general waste, food waste, and recycling bins.
- Ensure general cleanliness and tidiness of common areas, such as reception, offices, kitchens, and break areas.
- Carry out periodic deep cleans of these areas.
- Clean internal windows, glass partitions and mirrors.
- Wash tables and mop floors in kitchens, break areas, and bathrooms.
- Clean toilets and washbasins and replenish bathroom supplies.
- Monitor cleaning and maintenance supplies, liaising with Purchasing department to ensure correct stock levels are maintained.
- Maintain housekeeping of the warehouse, and ensure the delivery yard, car park and surroundings areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Litter picking, sweeping, basic gardening and groundskeeping tasks, such as weeding and pruning.
- Repair or dispose of old or damaged pallets into skip.
- Ensure the correct waste type is disposed of into onsite skips.
- Ensure empty water cooler bottles are flattened and ready for collection by supplier.
- In icy conditions ensure pedestrian and access paths on premises are gritted.
- Be confident handling light repairs, such as filling holes and touching up paintwork.
- Any other general maintenance required.
This list is not exhaustive and there will be other tasks which may fall under the requirements of this position from time to time, such as using the cardboard baler or light warehouse duties.
Skills and Experience:- Previous experience in commercial cleaning.
- Previous experience in property/site maintenance or similar is desirable.
- Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning products and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good time management skills.
- Pass Level in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent qualification.
