The role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Event Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of our global events portfolio. Reporting to the managing director of Operations and Marketing, the Senior Event Manager will play a key role in delivering complex, high-profile events across international markets. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, stakeholder engagement capabilities, strong commercial awareness and a deep understanding of end-to-end event execution across in-person, hybrid and virtual formats.
The Senior Event Manager will also line-manage the Event Coordinator, providing clear direction, support and development while ensuring work is prioritised and delivered to a consistently high standard.
You will work within the Events team, which is responsible for the operational delivery of all OMFIF activities, including events, meetings and on-demand content across its four institutes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of a portfolio of approximately 80 in-person, hybrid and virtual events each year.
- Line-manage, support and develop the Event Coordinator, setting priorities, allocating work and monitoring performance and delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior internal and external stakeholders, sponsors and partners, ensuring expectations are clearly understood, managed and exceeded.
- Oversee complex event logistics, including venue and supplier management, technical production, food and beverage, audiovisual requirements, hybrid delivery and international travel coordination.
- Take ownership of event budgets from initial planning through to final reconciliation, including negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effective delivery within agreed financial guidelines.
- Review and improve internal processes, introducing efficiencies, innovations and best practices across the event lifecycle.
- Lead the integration of digital platforms, including Zoom and OMFIF Live, into event delivery and ensure technical readiness for hybrid and virtual formats.
- Support sponsor relationship management, ensuring all contractual commitments are delivered and identifying opportunities to provide additional value.
- Oversee post-event analysis, CRM updates, survey reporting and impact assessment to inform future planning and strategy.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of OMFIF’s on-demand content strategy, including podcasts and video production across the four institutes.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop promotional strategies for each event, including branding, speaker announcements, email communications and social media activity.
- Ensure all event branding and communications are accurate, consistent and aligned with OMFIF’s corporate identity, working closely with the Production and Marketing teams.
- Maintain a clear overview of the events schedule, team capacity and competing priorities, escalating risks and recommending solutions where necessary.
- Ensure events are delivered in accordance with relevant legal, health and safety, data protection and accessibility requirements.
Due to the nature of working in an SME, occasional support in other areas of the business may be required to meet team and business needs.
The candidate:
- 3-4 years of event management experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM platforms
