  • The OMFIF Institute, Economic and Monetary Policy
  • Digital Monetary Institute
  • Sustainable Policy Institute

Each institute produces content for its members and clients, utilising its global network of economic, political and investment decision-makers. Our members come from both the public and private sectors and comprise some of the most well-known and respected financial and technology organisations in the world.

The role:

OMFIF plays a key role in bringing together the public and private sectors to discuss best policy and practice through its memberships, events, research and publications. This role will work across OMFIF but with particular focus on the Sovereign Debt Institute (SDI) and the Digital Monetary Institute (DMI) . SDI convenes issuers and investors across the global sovereign, supranational and agency (SSA) debt community for high-level, strategic and constructive dialogue on the key issues facing the market. DMI focuses on the future of money. With the payments space experiencing unprecedented disruption, these high-level interactions – convened by OMFIF – are more important than ever.

A fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with a keen interest in policy and regulation/digital finance/capital markets/political economy/economics.

The role incorporates a mix of research and relationship-building with the public sector globally. The Senior Conference Producer will craft a pipeline of meetings and events focusing on the most innovative and important topics of the moment. The successful candidate will have a real sense of ownership over the meetings pipeline as part of the highly effective OMFIF team, working closely with colleagues to create the most appealing product.

This is a great chance to work with some of the most highly regarded financial figures around the world. The role has been a great launchpad for the careers of many of our alumni, who have gone on to work at central banks, within the government or for large financial/tech firms.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching themes and writing agendas
  • Sourcing speakers for events
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with central banks, government, ministries of finance, international financial institutions and financial regulators.
  • Working closely with clients and members (banks/technology providers/fintech/ and consultancy firms) on creating meeting and event ideas to suit their needs. Both a commercial and academic approach is required to liaise with both the clients and the speakers
  • Travelling to domestic and international events as required
  • This role reports to Head, Sovereign Debt Institute and works closely with event co-ordinators, marketers, editors and commercial managers. You will produce around six (50+ person) seminars and 15 (25 person) virtual/in-person roundtables a year.

  • Conference production / programming
  • Interest in financial markets and enthusiasm to learn about capital markets, digitalisation and the future of finance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organisational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • You must have a 2:1 undergraduate degree or higher, in a related field.
  • It would be an advantage to have prior experience in:

-International relations, politics, political economy, finance, economics, technology

-The public sector or third sector

-Salesforce or other CRMs
