Purpose of the Position: The main purpose of this role is to plan, execute, and close projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will be the central coordinator, managing resources, risks, and team communication to achieve specific organisational goals and deliver value to stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Establish clear project goals and objectives within an established timeframe.
  • Efficiently allocate resources, control cost, and keep the project within budget.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage potential risks to minimise uncertainty and prevent issues.
  • Create timelines and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the team while serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Ensure the final deliverables meet the required standards and client expectations.
  • Deal with problems, changes, and obstacles throughout the project life cycle.

Governance: Interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders: Project team members, Clients & customers, Upper management, Stakeholders, Vendors & suppliers.

Person Specification Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related technical field such as engineering.
  • Certifications to include Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or related certificates.
  • Proven experience in planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, and mitigate risks.
  • Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and team motivation skills to lead, often under pressure.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g. Jira, MS Project) and software packages.
  • Previous experience project managing in an engineering sector.
