As a specialized subsidiary of VINCI Energies, Omexom acts as an EPC contractor (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) to offer turnkey solutions for the design, supply, installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical infrastructures for a varied range of electricity utility companies and renewable energy developers throughout the UK and Ireland.

The current team aims to strengthen its skills and demonstrate its commitment to students by offering a finance internship that includes both specialized learning and a comprehensive view of the activity.

As part of the development of our activities in the Power Region, we are recruiting for an interns to join us for 12-month placement programme.

Role Purpose

The successful applicant will work under the guidance of experienced Accountants and finance staff, gaining hands‑on experience while developing the technical and leadership skills required for their future career.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Regular analysis of KPI's such as invoice lag, debtors, variances and productive hours
  • Data mining and manipulation to help with the points mentioned above
  • Manage timesheet input and control
  • Assist in obtaining market intelligence to facilitate strategy and budget formulation
  • Be actively involved with Shared Strategic Plan and forecasting process
  • Cash Management
  • Ensure effective and efficient credit control in the BU / Region
  • Make sure the setting up and payment of suppliers are performed in accordance with our control procedures and agreed payment terms
  • Be responsible for the cash management in defined areas.
  • General Accounting
  • Make sure transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner and in accordance with the group and accounting rules
  • Be prepared to develop/apply the technical accounting knowledge obtained in their professional training to ensure the correct treatment of financial transactions.
  • Control and Reporting
  • Support the FBPs / FC to control overhead spend to be kept within budget
  • Ensure all monthly and quarterly BU and Group reporting is done within the set timescales
  • Ensure BUs/Region is in compliance with the groups Internal Control procedures.
  • Administration & Other
  • Participate in the administration of the team
  • Completion of other non financial reporting obligations such as National Statistics information, Sustainable Development and HR reporting
  • Support FC in delivery of projects on an adhoc basis that deliver real improvements in the effective management of the BU
  • Learning & Development
  • Participate in internal training via the Omexom Institute or equivalent programmes.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential

  • Undergraduate in finance or business-related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good IT skills (i. e MS Excel, BI etc).
  • Willingness to travel and work across remote project locations.

Desirable

  • Full ROI driving license and access to own vehicle.
