The role is to support the Transmission Overhead Line Business Unit and Project Planner in the successful delivery of projects for blue chip clients through effective programme management techniques and support to the Project Management Organisation (PMO).

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake a Construction Management HNC.
  • To assist the project planner in the production and maintenance of tender and delivery programmes.
  • To attend college / university, or undertake online classes, at the proscribed frequency / duration as per course guidelines.
  • To attend other training as directed by the Regional Planning Manager.
  • To undertake self-study periods on protected study days.
  • Interface with other departments regarding the project’s activities which may have an impact and ensure these are correctly captured.

Essential criteria:

  • It is essential that the successful candidate is an excellent communicator with all stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Self-disciplined learner, with the dedication to complete the apprenticeship and course works.
  • The jobholder must possess: 1 Scottish Higher at grade C or above, preferably Maths, Graphic Communications or a Science subject OR 1 A Level at Grade D or above, preferably Maths, Physics or Graphical Communication OR NC/NQ in a construction related subject or the completion of a Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering. Prospective students without the standard entry requirements as listed above are encouraged to apply; appropriate construction related experience will be taken into consideration.
  • You must also be at least 16 years of age, resident in Scotland at the start of the Graduate Apprenticeship, self-motivated with good interpersonal skills working in a team environment, good attention to detail with good time management skills, and possess excellent communication and presentational skills.

Desirable:

  • Industry Awareness.
  • Full driving license.
  • Own Transport.

This position is preferably based in Strathclyde / Argyll Region; however, we do have offices in Perth or Glasgow, with travel to site and attendance at main / site offices on a weekly basis.
