You will be a part of a team of Plant Fitters & Lifting Equipment Examiners to ensure that Transmission Over Head Line (TOHL) Heavy Plant and Specialist Equipment is repaired, serviced and maintained to the required standards. Completing inspection and maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner is of paramount importance within this role. High standards of quality are a must both in your Plant Fitting work and paperwork. This requires a solutions-driven individual with strong organisational skills to handle various operational tasks. The role is based primarily in the England region supporting TOHL Projects as required, with occasional travel to other locations throughout the UK including the main Plant Depot in Castleford. Flexibility in working hours, including overtime, may be required to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Carry out preventive / reactive maintenance and service repair activities to our fleet of TOHL Plant & Equipment, including hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Conduct fault finding and diagnostics to rectify all types of Mechanical & Electrical faults on large diesel driven plant.
- Communicate effectively with the Plant Depot Team and Project Site Teams.
- Raising of Purchase Requisitions.
- Liaise with Equipment Manufacturers and key suppliers for technical and complex issues ensuring the most cost-effective solutions are provided.
- Continually seek improvements in the Plant Depot Workshop and working practices.
- Explore innovative solutions and new plant and equipment.
- Accurately logging, recording and completing jobs as required.
- Ensure that all Omexom Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to, adopting a safe method of working at all times.

Qualifications and experience
- Proven experience in a similar role within a Plant / Mechanical Workshop environment.
- Relevant qualification within a Plant / Mechanical discipline.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable criteria
- A valid Forklift Truck and / or Telehandler Operators’ certificate.
- Computer literate – able to use MS Word, Excel & Outlook comfortably.
- A Welding qualification.
- A Mechanical / Electrical qualification.
- A Safety qualification (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH) or willingness to work towards one.
