About the Role
Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Transmission Line Mechanic role just for you! In this position, you’ll provide a technical trade’s service to the company’s Transmission Lines Services Division, making a real impact.
- Identifying electrical systems in preparation for work
- Using lines machinery, plant, and equipment in an electricity network environment
- Climbing and working on electricity network structure
- Determining the condition of electricity lines
- Applying earths to and removing earths from overhead electric line conductors
- Developing work plan for construction and servicing of overhead electricity lines and equipment
- Jointing electricity network overhead conductors
- Repairing and overhauling electricity network tower foundations
- Installing and replacing electricity network pole structures
- Dismantling electricity network lines and structures
- Removing electricity network to overhead pole line installations up to 110 kV
- Overhauling tower structure hardware in electrical networks up to 220 kV
- Understand and comply with your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all associated regulations, standards, and approved codes of practice
- Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you by Omexom relating to health and safety
Qualifications and Skills
- A National Certificate Level 4 as a Transmission Line Mechanic required
- Hands-on experience in Transmission Line work to industry standards
- A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements
- Flexibility required in dealing with adverse weather, resource, materials, and other conditions
- A full New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence is required
