We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Production Planner to join our client’s growing manufacturing team. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring efficient shop floor scheduling and achieving OTIF (On Time In Full) customer delivery through effective use of our ERP/MRP systems. You will play a key part in coordinating production activities, maintaining workflow efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating to ISO 13485 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load work orders efficiently while maintaining customer delivery commitments.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date tracking of live works orders.
- Produce monthly and weekly forward loading plans across all production resources, including manual operations (deburring, inspection, packing/despatch, etc.).
- Monitor progress against schedules, proactively addressing delays and supporting machinists to meet targets.
- Ensure timely movement of jobs between processes.
- Raise purchase requisitions for subcontract operations and ensure subcontract requirements are communicated to purchasing.
- Ensure raw materials are issued correctly and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), including set and cycle times.
- Monitor stock accuracy for raw materials and finished goods.
- Identify production constraints and collaborate with Shop Floor Management to resolve them.
- Troubleshoot bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and report on KPIs and production performance.
- Prioritise workflow to ensure monthly output aligns with budgeted sales targets.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 quality standards.
- Complete ERP administration within SAGE200/Preactor.
- Liaise with internal departments to provide data and operational support.
- Adhere to company Quality Control procedures and Health & Safety policies.
- Recommend improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Production Planner within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (essential).
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and quality.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and process optimisation (desirable).
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAGE200 or IFS systems (desirable – training provided).
- Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) or above.
