Our client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of rotary aerospace systems used around the world. They are currently looking for a Commercial Officer to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Project Accountant will be responsible for supporting project performance through robust financial control, reporting, forecasting, and risk management activities. Working closely with Project Managers, Work Package Managers, and key stakeholders across the business, you will ensure accurate financial reporting and provide valuable insight to support effective decision-making.

Duties:
- Provide financial control and reporting support across a portfolio of projects and programmes.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and financial performance metrics.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles.
- Monitor project costs, revenues, commitments, and cash flow against approved budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Work Package Managers to ensure effective financial planning and control.
- Assist in the identification, assessment, and management of project-related financial risks and opportunities.
- Produce clear and accurate management reports to support project reviews and business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting standards, and contractual requirements.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project financial procedures and process documentation.
- Analyse financial data, trends, and variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate multiple reporting and control activities while meeting demanding deadlines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project accounting and financial management processes.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Experience working within a financial controlling, project reporting, or project finance environment.
- Good working knowledge of accounting and financial control principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of work package management and work package control methodologies.
- Knowledge and application of risk management principles.
- Highly organised and methodical approach to planning, tracking, and financial control activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
