My client, a specialist equipment manufacturer, is on the hunt for a Buyer / Material Planner to join the team!
Role and Responsibilities â Buyer / Material Planner
In this role, you will be responsible for managing dayâtoâday purchasing activity across a defined portfolio of suppliers and product groups. This includes maintaining stock levels according to company strategy, ensuring parts availability in line with sales forecasts, and overseeing all MRP planning. Other responsibilities include:
- Proactively monitor upcoming supply risks and provide practical solutions to avoid shortages
- Collaborate closely with the sales planning team to ensure timely delivery performance and effective stock management, preventing underâ or overâstocking
- Order in line with purchasing strategies & budget controls
- Expedite and adjust supplier orders in line with changing sales and production requirements.
Experience or Qualifications â Buyer / Material Planner
- Experience within a buying / material planner role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to work cross-functionally with other departments such as Engineering and Sales
- Experience in working with MRP/ERP systems (ideally SAGE or Microsoft Dynamics ERP)
- Strong analytical mindset with examples of interrogation and data analysis projects
Candidates who currently are a Buyer, Purchaser, Materials Planner, Technical Buyer, or Strategic Planner may be suitable for this position.
