I am looking for an experienced Quality Inspector with an Engineering background for my client, a globally renowned precision engineering business who are looking for a Quality Inspector to join their expanding team. Their role is to carry out inspection activities within a small team of Quality inspectors in a busy inspection environment. The primary focus of this role will be the inspection of small/medium sized aerospace components for my client’s aerospace customers, ensuring full compliance to drawing specifications and AS9102, AS9100 Rev D, and Rolls-Royce SABRe4 requirements.

Key responsibilities – Quality Inspector- The measuring/inspection of precision parts using a wide range of measurement equipment.
- Develop and maintain Quality inspection plans.
- Ensure the control of non-conforming products.
- Conduct internal non-conformance investigations using 8D/5why etc when required.
- Develop the use of new measuring equipment.
- Establish best practice and streamline processes for inspecting items arriving in goods in and work alongside goods in to inspect incoming items.
- Provide floating inspection support.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 Rev D and customer-specific quality standards.
- Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
- Interface with all internal departments on quality concerns.
- Desire to train on CMM if not already experienced with it.
- Practical knowledge of the inspection of precision components.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical data and customer specific requirements including geometric tolerancing (GD & T).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills, and some understanding of Aerospace requirements.
- Proven knowledge of SPC and the deployment of appropriate process quality tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of quality tools and techniques such as 8D, 5 why.
- Effectively prioritize daily inspection duties/activities to meet goals and objectives.
- Be able to effectively communicate with production.
- A qualified Engineer, in an Inspection/Quality related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality Inspection role within the aerospace industry.
- Proven experience of the use of manual handheld measuring equipment.
- Working knowledge of CMMs.
- Working knowledge of profile tracers.
- Understanding of Internal Audits (AS9100 or ISO 9001).
- Understanding of NADCAP special processes (e.g., NDT, heat treatment).
- Knowledge of Calibration.
- Desire to train on CMM.
