Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Maintenance Fitter
- Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
- Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment
- Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
- You'll work with conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and general mechanical fitting
- Fault-finding to basic welding
- Leading electrical and instrumentation, repair, and working with s CMMS
- Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes of mechanical engineering faults
- Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
- Could you complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive, and improvement maintenance as assigned?
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Qualifications & Requirements – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
- Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered.
- Knowledge of conveyor belts, drives, gearboxes couplings general mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems is essential
- Routine Preventative Maintenance so an understanding of a PPM schedule
- Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
- Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
- Fitting, Fabricating and Welding experience preferred
- A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
