We are looking for a commercially driven and strategically minded Strategic Buyer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of Energy Industry projects. This is a high-impact position where you will develop and execute supply chain strategies, deliver significant cost savings, and build strong supplier relationships that create real competitive advantage. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Project teams to ensure all procurement and logistics activities meet contractual, financial, quality, and HSE standards while keeping projects on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic supply chain initiatives that support project and sales objectives.
- Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers, building long-term, high-performing partnerships.
- Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost reductions and secure favourable contractual terms.
- Evaluate supplier bids against technical and commercial criteria to select best-value partners.
- Manage framework agreements, subcontracts, and the full end-to-end procurement process in line with company policies.
- Oversee purchase orders, delivery performance, supplier KPIs (OTD, quality, lead time), and proactively resolve issues.
- Maintain strong supplier governance and accurate data in procurement systems to ensure compliance and transparency.
Experience/Qualifications
- Proven experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics.
- Strong background in electrical procurement, particularly high-voltage equipment.
- Ability to assess supplier technical compliance against electrical RFQs, including ratings, certifications, and safety requirements.
- A solid track record of delivering cost savings both at bid stage and during project execution.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Genuine passion for excellence in Procurement and Logistics.
