A leading automotive lighting manufacturer supplying luxury and supercar brands is seeking a Graduate Metrology Engineer to join its Quality team. This role supports the development and validation of new products through advanced 3D scanning, measurement, and reporting activities. Working closely with Design, Tooling, and Quality functions, you will play a key part in ensuring components meet specification throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities – Graduate Metrology Engineer
  • 3D Scanning & Measurement: Develop measurement programmes for moulded child parts using PolyWorks. Work with measurement technicians to complete scans and generate FAIR/CTS reports. Produce measurement reports for every drawing revision and modification. Ensure all child parts have validated 3D scanning programmes and documented results.
  • Quality & APQP Support: Provide CTS data to project teams as soon as parts are available. Issue FAIR documentation for all moulded components at drawing release. Verify CTS corrections and drawing modifications beyond Rev A. Complete first off inspection reports for all moulded parts.
  • Design & Engineering Collaboration: Liaise with Design to optimise measurement features and tolerances in line with DIN16742. Report deviations to the tooling project team for inclusion in CTS. Support drawing updates and tolerance reviews for moulded components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support improvements in 3D scanning processes and reporting methods. Investigate assembly related issues as agreed with the Quality Manager.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Support statistical studies when required (subject to Quality Manager approval). Provide measurement input for CTS and new product introduction activities.
  • Customer Support: Assist customer quality representatives during project related visits or reviews.
Qualifications & Requirements – Graduate Metrology Engineer
  • Degree in Engineering, or HNC/HND with relevant experience.
  • Strong organisational and follow‑up skills.
  • Competent in problem solving, planning, and decision‑making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, from shop floor to director.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to quality.
