Reporting to the Site Head of Engineering Department – Engineering Maintenance, Planning & Reliability
Are you a maintenance engineering professional who genuinely believes that planned maintenance should be the standard? Do you have a strong background in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management? Having worked in factory environments? Do you have hands-on engineering experience implementing RCM and lean maintenance tools? You could be an apprentice trained or a graduate engineer, with a skill set for driving world-class maintenance standards.
We are looking for a Site Engineering Reliability & Maintenance Lead to play a key role in strengthening this client’s site asset maintenance performance, improving engineering equipment reliability and driving a manufacturing site towards a proactive, data-led maintenance culture. You will lead a maintenance and reliability strategy that prioritises planned and predictive maintenance over reactive work. In this engineering maintenance leadership role, you will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement teams to reduce unplanned downtime and improve asset life.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer, a Maintenance Planner, a Maintenance Manager or a Continuous Improvement Engineer who is ready to lead, passionate about reliability, structured modern maintenance, and continuous improvement, and who wants to make a measurable impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the implementation of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM)
- Take the helm of a large site’s asset maintenance management strategy.
- Focus on proactive, preventative & predictive maintenance.
- Improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and embed engineering best practices across the site.
- Drive maintenance improvement initiatives focused on reducing unplanned downtime and improving OEE.
- Analyse equipment performance data to identify repeat failures, losses, and reliability risks.
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
- Lead a planned, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance engineering approach.
- Support the transition from reactive to planned and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Embed autonomous maintenance routines.
- Degree or NVQ level 3 minimum qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in maintenance reliability, maintenance improvement, or asset care within FMCG or high-volume process or manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of RCM, RCA, and lean maintenance methodologies.
- Experience using CMMS systems (e.g. SAP PM, Maximo, Mainsaver, Movex or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into practical engineering actions.
