Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Birmingham / M1 Corridor

Pay Range/details: £40,000 per annum + overtime

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega are supporting well-established building services contractor in Wakefield in their search for a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer. This door-to-door role will install, service, maintenance, and repair commercial gas systems and appliances across a variety of sites.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Gas Engineer

  • Carry out installation, servicing, and breakdown repairs on commercial gas appliances and systems (e.g., boilers, heaters, burners, pipework).
  • Diagnose faults, carry out testing and commissioning of gas systems, and complete remedial works as required.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with current gas safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct routine PPM (planned preventative maintenance) and reactive maintenance tasks on commercial premises.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Complete job reports, gas safety certificates, and service documentation accurately.
  • Work closely with other engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Adhere to all company health & safety procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications & Requirements – Commercial Gas Engineer

  • Current and valid Commercial Gas Qualifications.
  • Proven experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
  • Valid CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of gas safety regulations, installation standards, and industry best practices.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering / Plumbing & Heating.
