A newly created role, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective planned maintenance strategy, repair, problem solving and improvement of assets, working within a group function. Reporting directly to the Group Reliability Manager, it's a growing team, site and business.
You will deliver the Engineering Reliability Maintenance plan, in a technical leadership role, empowering the hands-on Reliability Maintenance Engineers to put into action; move away from a reactive maintenance culture. Reviewing Maintenance effectiveness and machine history to develop reports, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives. Numerous safety and data led projects to get involved in as site invests Β£100M into its assets. You will have the autonomy to develop the function. It's brand new; your chance to take the lead in developing the asset care strategy in a hands-on influencing role. You won't be on the tools, but you will develop and implement tools such as condition monitoring, RCA and CMMS, rolling out the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Role and Responsibilities:
- Development of Condition Based Maintenance strategy for the site using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Defining equipment criticality in relation to safety, productivity impact supporting the prioritization of asset care strategies.
- Develop and manage the programme of equipment inspections and repairs.
- Provide pro-active maintenance support and strategy to the engineering team.
- Minimize downtime on the plant, improve continuously.
- Assist in implementing the maintenance excellence strategy, focusing on driving improvements in equipment Reliability and Availability.
- Achieve Maintenance Excellence objectives.
- Respond to plant reliability issues.
- Ensure root-cause analysis is conducted for all relevant failures with corrective actions.
- Coach engineers and operators to improve the knowledge in best practice maintenance.
- Deliver continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are updated with learnings from equipment failures to minimize plant downtime.
- Manage the collection of data on equipment failures and systems to reduce line downtime.
Role Requirements:
- Engineering, Apprentice Trained NVQ Level 3 HNC/Degree desirable.
- Several years manufacturing experience, you may have developed from graduate or qualified craft engineer.
- Experience of Engineering manuals and Drawings.
- Knowledge of Computerised Systems, ideally Maintenance led.
- Excellent PC, Data Analysis and Excellent Communication skills.
- Previous Experience in a similar role desired, but not essential.
- Some knowledge of TPM/Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
