THE ROLE – Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business as a Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components of a composite nature.
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll need to possess both understanding of composites materials and their properties and also have a strong manufacturing background including process and quality improvements.
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate key experience composite materials, with experience in carbon composites being highly desirable.
DUTIES – Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)
- Support product design for manufacture as required.
- Create Routings and BoM’s.
- Develop Process Sheets as required for Standard Procedures.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and have an Inspection plan is in place.
- Working with the Tooling Design team create the Tooling Concepts / Requirements.
- Develop PFMEAs to identify and mitigate risks.
- Review production data and recommend improvements in quality control and efficiency
- Support procurement with technical guidance.
- Support BD with quotations (methodology and costings).
BACKGROUND – Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)
- Experience of Composite manufacture and processing
- Strong understanding of composite materials - particularly carbon fiber
- Understanding quality control within aerospace.
- Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferable)
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
Candidates who are currently a Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Production Manager, Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Team Leader, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Composite Designer, Composite Research Engineer.
