Role Overview – Design/Controls Systems Engineer
Our client located in Colchester, is a provider of bespoke affordable control and safety solutions. The company delivers industrial automation control & safety systems and instrument services to customers worldwide, and serves multiple markets including rail, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, marine and others. They are currently looking for a for a Control System Design Engineer to join the team in Colchester. The Engineer will be responsible for control systems design, electrical engineering, systems engineering, PLC Programming, Testing and on-site testing & commissioning of industrial automation control & safety systems.
Key responsibilities- Design/Controls Systems Engineer
- Design Development by Creating layouts, mechanical designs, wiring schematics in AutoCAD.
- Engineering of Hardware/software design and optimization.
- PLC Programming including writing, testing, and developing programmable logic controller code.
- Specifications & Documentation by reviewing project specs and developing detailed functional designs.
- System Design of SCADA systems, HMIs, and functional design specifications.
- Internal System Testing of new systems.
- On site commissioning of new systems both UK and worldwide
Qualifications and Requirements – Design/Controls Systems Engineer
- Experienced in PLC programming
- Systems, Software & Hardware development experience
- Degree in Control, Automation or Electrical Engineering is preferred
- Experience with Emulation & Simulation software an advantage
- AutoCAD Knowledge & Experience
