Our client, a global leader in advanced engineering and motion control solutions, is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Technician to join their Wolverhampton site. This role focuses on the maintenance, upgrade, and sustainment of complex machinery and test equipment systems, with a strong emphasis on hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on machinery and test equipment systems
- Diagnose and resolve faults impacting production, quality, and efficiency
- Repair machinery and equipment down to component level, often with limited documentation
- Work across hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Maintain configuration and operational readiness of machinery and test systems
- Produce and maintain maintenance and fault-finding documentation
- Supervise and manage third-party contractors on-site
- Use maintenance management systems (e.g. Pirana) to track work and report outcomes
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and complete risk assessments
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Assist with Lean and site improvement initiatives
- Specify spare parts and support inventory management
- Contribute to safe systems of work including Lock, Tag, Try procedures
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Engineering or Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining hydromechanical machinery or similar equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of electrical principles
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Familiarity with maintenance systems such as Pirana or similar (desirable)
- Experience with JIRA or similar systems (advantageous)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Additional certifications in areas such as Hydraulic Safety, PSSR, BFPA, NFPC, or Fluid Power are beneficial
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
