Job Title: AutoCAD Technician
Location: Wakefield
Pay Range/details: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
Omega are supporting well-established building services contractor, in Wakefield, in their search for a skilled AutoCAD Technician. The successful AutoCAD Technician will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. This is a full-time, office-based role requiring strong CAD expertise, accuracy, and the ability to work within deadlines.
Key Responsibilities – AutoCAD Technician
- Produce 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC layouts, plumbing schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Interpret engineer’s designs, sketches, and specifications into accurate CAD drawings.
- Maintain drawing standards, layering conventions, and file management procedures.
- Revise and update drawings based on mark-ups and feedback from engineers and project managers.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, technical standards, and company quality procedures.
- Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify technical details.
- Support the project team with technical information and accurate drawing outputs.
- Manage workloads effectively to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements – AutoCAD Technician
- Proficient in AutoCAD with demonstrable experience in building services (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drafting.
- Understanding of building services systems and layouts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
