Role Overview

Our client, a well-established and growing specialist provider of steam and process control solutions, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive growth across the South/Southwest of England. This is a field-based role managing an established territory, developing existing accounts, and identifying new business opportunities across a wide range of industrial sectors. You’ll play a key role in delivering sustained growth while building strong, long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing key accounts
  • Identify and maximise upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Generate and convert new business opportunities across the territory
  • Develop and execute strategic territory sales plans
  • Achieve and exceed agreed revenue and growth targets
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline reporting
  • Provide weekly reports on customer visits and sales activity
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales and technical support teams
  • Represent the business professionally at all times

Key Experience & Qualifications

  • B2B Sales experience
  • Experience managing a sales territory
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Self-motivated and target-driven approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory
  • Experience within steam systems, valves, process control, fluid handling, instrumentation, or related industries is advantageous
  • Technical sales experience within industrial markets
  • Knowledge of steam and process applications
