Role Overview – Quality Engineer
Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to take ownership of quality performance in a highly regulated engineering environment? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading aerospace manufacturer as they continue to strengthen their quality function and drive world‑class standards across their operations.
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring product safety, compliance and reliability across the full value stream. You’ll act as a technical specialist for product and process quality, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term improvement initiatives. This is an on‑site position based in Coventry, working closely with engineering, operations, suppliers and customers to uphold industry-leading standards.
Key Responsibilities – Quality Engineer
- Supporting compliance with AS9100, AS13100, AS9102 and other aerospace quality standards
- Conducting Layered Process Audits, product audits and process audits
- Reviewing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to AS9102 requirements
- Leading containment, root cause analysis and corrective action using tools such as 8D, 5-Why and Cause & Effect
- Driving Zero Defect and continuous improvement initiatives across the value stream
- Analysing key quality metrics such as First Pass Yield, defect rates and audit findings
- Collaborating with engineering, operations, customers and suppliers to resolve issues and improve quality performance
- Supporting APQP activity including PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP
- Ensuring documentation, records and compliance evidence are accurate and up to standard.
Key Experience & Qualifications – Quality Engineer
- Experience in aerospace or another highly regulated engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and general quality management system requirements
- Proficiency in APQP, PFMEA/DFMEA, PPAP and root cause analysis tools
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Engineering/technical degree or equivalent industry experience.
