Omega Tutoring is looking for one‑to‑one tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils in Tonbridge and the surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Work on a 1:1 basis with students aged between 5-16 years old.
- The majority of these students are disengaged in education and will be out of school, with many of them not on a school roll.
- Deliver sessions in either the student’s home, the local library or other community site.
- Students may have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties.
- They are also likely to be working below age‑related expectations.
- Schedule of the majority of cases is 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, but can be flexible depending on the student.
- Candidates may take on more than one case to increase hours.
- Deliver sessions with a focus on English and Maths.

Experience & Qualifications
- QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential, provided you have relevant experience.
- Minimum of degree level.
- Experience working with students with SEN.
- Highly motivated, focused on achieving the best for every student.
- Positive attitude and desire.
- Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to process a new application.
- Provide two professional child‑related references.
