Description

Omega Tutoring are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils across Medway and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a 1:1 basis with students aged 3-16 years old.
  • Sessions take place at the student\’s home or the local library.
  • Students likely have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour/SEN difficulties and be working below age-related expectations.
  • Majority of cases are 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, but flexible depending on the student; potential to work more hours by taking on multiple cases.
  • Deliver sessions focusing on core learning.

  • Location – Across Medway
  • Position – 1:1 Tutor
  • Type of work – Tuition
  • Start date – ASAP
  • Contract type – Temporary
  • Duration – Ongoing
  • Full‑time/part‑time – Part‑time Monday to Friday – various hours
  • Minimum rate of pay – £20 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the Part‑Time 1:1 Outreach Teaching Assistant position

  • QTS or QTLS preferred but not essential, if you have relevant experience.
  • Minimum of degree level.
  • Experience working with students with SEN.
  • Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
  • Positive attitude and desire.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child‑related references.
