Description
Omega Tutoring are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils across Medway and the surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Work on a 1:1 basis with students aged 3-16 years old.
- Sessions take place at the student\’s home or the local library.
- Students likely have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour/SEN difficulties and be working below age-related expectations.
- Majority of cases are 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, but flexible depending on the student; potential to work more hours by taking on multiple cases.
- Deliver sessions focusing on core learning.
Contract Details for Part‑Time 1:1 Outreach Tutor position
- Location – Across Medway
- Position – 1:1 Tutor
- Type of work – Tuition
- Start date – ASAP
- Contract type – Temporary
- Duration – Ongoing
- Full‑time/part‑time – Part‑time Monday to Friday – various hours
- Minimum rate of pay – £20 per hour
Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the Part‑Time 1:1 Outreach Teaching Assistant position
- QTS or QTLS preferred but not essential, if you have relevant experience.
- Minimum of degree level.
- Experience working with students with SEN.
- Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
- Positive attitude and desire.
- Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
- Provide two professional child‑related references.
