A well-established and growing organisation is seeking a proactive Logistics Specialist to join its Supply Chain team based in Maldon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review sales orders and coordinate inbound and outbound shipment bookings alongside Customer Service and Planning teams.
- Manage UK and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight, including groupage consignments.
- Create detailed loading plans to maximise vehicle and container utilisation.
- Maintain and update daily warehouse loading schedules, ensuring clear communication of any changes.
- Generate inventory picking instructions in line with shipment requirements.
- Obtain, compare, and analyse carriage quotations to support commercial decision-making.
- Maintain transport and shipping cost records and spreadsheets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across logistics activities.
- Act as a point of contact for customer enquiries regarding export procedures and transport arrangements.
- Ensure correct application of Incoterms and compliance with export documentation requirements.
- Prepare and verify export paperwork and carriage documentation.
- Monitor supplier, carrier, and 3PL performance, implementing corrective actions where required.
