We are now seeking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to work in a new workshop in Featherstone to support the current fleet of plant technicians and vehicle technicians.
The appropriate candidate would be responsible for servicing the fleet of a mixture of cars, minibuses, lorries, and vans.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Workshop Controllers to maintain the standards of roadworthiness and mechanical safety for the fleet of a mixture of cars, minibuses, lorries, and vans.
- Using specialised recovery equipment, vehicle mounted crane and tail lift operations and repairs.
- Carry out the statutory inspection, maintenance, and repair to vehicles, plant, and equipment.
- Carry out roadworthiness and safety checks and maintenance of hired vehicles.
- Ensure all electronic records, paperwork, forms, inspection sheets, defect notes, and photographic evidence are completed accurately and recorded as required.
- To mechanically diagnose faults and decide on the most economical method of repair while having regard to appropriate quality and legal standards.
Requirements:
- NVQ 2 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components (opportunity to gain NVQ Level 3).
- BTEC Technicians or NVQ level 2 in appropriate study.
- An abrasive wheel licence (grinding).
- An overhead crane license.
- Advanced computer literacy, including the effective use of vehicle & plant diagnostic equipment and vehicle-based technology.
