Role Overview - Deburrer
An established engineering manufacturer is expanding its operations and is looking for a hands-on Deburr Operator to join the team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision work, can adapt to shift patterns, and takes pride in producing high-quality components for safety-critical applications.
As a Deburr Operator, you’ll be responsible for the final finishing of precision-machined parts by removing burrs, smoothing edges, and perfecting surface finishes. Your work will directly contribute to the quality and reliability of components used in advanced engineering environments. This role is on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract and will require you to work on a Double Day (AM/PM) shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities - Deburrer
- Remove burrs and sharp edges from machined components using hand tools and power tools.
- Carry out polishing, blending and chamfering to achieve required surface and dimensional quality.
- Interpret technical drawings and work instructions accurately.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges and visual inspection tools.
- Record inspection results and report any non-conforming parts.
- Work closely with machining and quality teams to support smooth production flow.
- Assist with cleaning, masking, packaging and preparing components for further processing.
- Follow established manufacturing processes and recognised quality standards.
- Maintain and clean deburring tools, reporting faults or wear promptly.
- Work safely using required PPE and handle small, detailed components with precision.
Key Experience & Requirements – Deburrer
- Previous experience in deburring, metal finishing, or precision manufacturing (aerospace/automotive experience beneficial).
- Confident using a range of manual and powered finishing tools.
- Ability to work accurately with small or delicate components.
- Comfortable interpreting engineering drawings and quality specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Understanding of lean or continuous improvement principles is an advantage.
