Technical Author required to join a growing engineering environment, supporting the creation of clear, accurate, and user-friendly maintenance documentation.

The successful Technical Author will be responsible for turning complex technical data into structured, practical work instructions for use by engineers, technicians and shop floor staff.

Main Duties:

  • Transform complex maintenance procedures into clear, step-by-step task cards.
  • Ensure strict version control, so teams always work to the latest approved data.
  • Collaborate with technicians on the shop floor to validate usability and practicality.
  • Work with stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality and accuracy.
  • Produce documentation that supports safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance delivery.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A background within a similar role gained within a complex engineering or equivalent environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret and write clear technical instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and logical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / GSuite.
  • Ability to build business relationships and deliver structured documentation.
