Field Service Director UK £95K - £105K (DOE) Permanent My client is a global leader within the automation and packing industry who offer end to end manufacturing solutions to their clients.
They are now on the lookout for an experienced Field Service Director to join their team.
You will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, and continuous development of the Field Service organisation.
Leading all field-based service activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and consistent delivery of installations, commissioning, maintenance, breakdown support, and technical service activities across the UK.
The position provides leadership to field service management and engineering teams, driving operational excellence, workforce capability, resource planning, service quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Acting as the senior operational authority for Field Key Responsibilities – Field Service Director Lead the UK Field Service operation, ensuring efficient delivery of installations, commissioning, maintenance, and breakdown support.
Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business and service objectives.
Manage workforce planning, resource allocation, and engineering capacity to meet customer demand.
Drive service performance through KPI management, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
Act as the senior technical authority, supporting the resolution of complex technical issues and escalations.
Lead, coach, and develop Field Service managers and engineers, promoting a high-performance culture.
Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and effective resolution of major customer concerns.
Maintain compliance with all health & safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Build strong relationships with key customers, internal stakeholders, OEM partners, and global technical teams.
Support succession planning, training, and competency development across the Field Service organisation.
- Qualifications & Experience – Field Service Director Significant leadership experience within Field Service, Engineering Operations, or Technical Services.
Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience within capital equipment, automation, packaging, or food manufacturing industries.
Proven experience leading and developing geographically dispersed engineering teams.
Strong background in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support activities.
Demonstrated success in improving operational performance and service delivery.
Experience managing complex technical issues, customer escalations, and critical service incidents.
Strong organisational, planning, and resource management skills.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership capabilities.
Experience working within SAP and ISO-compliant environments.
Commitment to health & safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
