We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join a highly regulated manufacturing site. This role plays a key part in maintaining, improving, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all plant and equipment, while supporting continuous improvement and site-wide safety initiatives.

Responsibilities of Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician:

  • Reliability and continuous improvement work including installation, relocation, and optimisation of machinery, alongside developing robust maintenance strategies.
  • Fault finding using PLCs, multi-meters, schematics, and visual inspection techniques.
  • Breakdown maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing or replacing faulty components.
  • Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and routine servicing of equipment.
  • Mechanical maintenance including pumps, solenoid valves, pneumatics, bearings, rollers, gearboxes, motors and related systems.
  • Electrical maintenance including three-phase motors, sensors, proximity switches, relays, safety circuits, control panels and LV systems.
  • Creation and execution of annual and monthly maintenance plans, including TPM, CAPEX projects and safe systems of work.
  • Reviewing and developing maintenance policies and procedures in line with QMS, GMP and health & safety requirements.
  • Responding to equipment failures in line with KPI targets and service level agreements.
  • Managing spares, consumables and maintenance resources in line with production demands.
  • Ensuring all maintenance documentation, records and analysis align with QMS and PPM strategy.
  • Supporting the site safety plan and leading on health & safety initiatives.
  • Delivering monthly toolbox talks and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and implementing practical solutions.
  • Ensuring team members are trained, competent and compliant with operational standards.

Requirements of Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment, including post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
  • Experience working within regulated environments (GMP/QMS preferred).
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Ability to lead by example and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Strong focus on health, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to develop reporting and leadership skills alongside IT competency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desirable:

  • Installation and commissioning experience of machinery.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience fault finding on PLC systems.
