A recognised multi-site market leader: our client is a major manufacturing company, producing a distinctive range of products for applications across numerous industries.
You will be responsible for engineering, capital investment and maintenance activities and overseeing the development and implementation of engineering initiatives to improve all elements of OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) and people development.
Leading the engineering technical agenda for the Site, including all the maintenance activities to improve line performance, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles - TPM.
Key Responsibilities - Site Engineering Manager:
- Ensure engineering resources (people/headcount) and technical skill set are maximised.
- Develop autonomous maintenance programmes - subject matter expert in maintenance.
- Continuous improvement and reengineering in everything you do - support and lead the organisational change programme.
- You will create, implement, and manage the engineering maintenance strategy.
- Monitor operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and implementing plans to deliver improvement.
- You will ensure that the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved.
- Prioritise health and safety, ensuring compliance with legislative standards and fostering a safe working environment for the maintenance team.
- Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and use problem-solving techniques (e.g., TPM, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
Qualifications and Requirements - Site Engineering Manager:
- Experience in leading technical frontline maintenance, services, and project teams in manufacturing.
- Track record of using advanced manufacturing techniques (e.g., WCM/TPM/Lean).
- HNC/HND/DEGREE within an engineering discipline, minimum, ideally a time-served apprentice engineer.
- Background in engineering management within a time-sensitive, 24/7 complex manufacturing environment is key; heavy, medium, process or FMCG could all suit.
- Lean Manufacturing experience and Knowledge - RCM/TPM.
- Demonstrating experience within a Manufacturing engineering environment in an engineering maintenance leadership role.
- Ideally recognised safety management qualification (NEBOSH/IOSH).
- Proven experience in maintenance management and leadership.
- Track record of delivering continuous improvement.
- Engineering leadership in a manufacturing environment - open to industry background, as long as it's manufacturing.
