The Role – Skilled Machinist – Grinding

This is an excellent opportunity for a Skilled Machinist with a specialism in both Manual and CNC Grinding to join a prominent Aerospace Manufacturing company in Tewkesbury centred on aerospace component output.

You will likely be skilled in a range of machining processes, however with be highly accomplished specifically on both Manual and CNC Grinding machines and across different grinding processes.

Duties – Skilled Machinist – Grinding

  • Set, operate and perform manual and CNC machining processes on Grinding machines.
  • diversity to turn hand to some of Milling, Turning, Grinding, Honing, EDM, and Assembly highly advantageous.
  • Carry out all set-ups for products routed through the machining process.
  • Advise on fixture, tool, and program design specific to grinding and related processes.
  • Conduct self-inspections and complete necessary quality audits.
  • Utilise approved engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation.
  • Adopt and implement lean manufacturing principles.
  • Basic preventative maintenance on machinery.

Background – Skilled Machinist – Grinding

  • Proven experience in manual and CNC grinding β€” this is essential.
  • Experience within a tool room or single piece manufacture environment would be advantageous
  • A recognized apprenticeship in engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong timekeeping and attendance record.
